To realize the policy of developing English as a second language within the university environment, the National Economics University has implemented numerous practical activities, linking foreign language training with the academic, research, and international integration needs of its staff. As part of an English capacity-building project by the Training Management Department, the Center for Foreign Languages in Economics organized a thematic seminar titled “Enhancing English Communication Skills” with the participation of experts from IDP – a prestigious global organization in international testing and educational consultancy. Speaking at the seminar, the IDP expert emphasized that improving English proficiency, particularly communication skills, not only serves the goal of enhancing staff language capacity but also fosters an environment where English is used as a second language at the National Economics University.
At the seminar, the IDP expert shared many practical insights regarding common barriers in English communication for learners; methods for practicing language reflexes in academic and professional environments; as well as effective self-study strategies to improve listening and speaking skills.
Through the seminar, attendees not only gained professional perspectives from international experts but also received a clearer orientation on the roadmap to improve English proficiency, meeting job requirements in the context of international integration. The seminar contributed to reaffirming the pioneering spirit and determination of the Training Management Department in building a bilingual work environment, step-by-step making English a regular academic and communication tool, thereby enhancing the training quality and prestige of the Training Management Department in particular and the University in general.
